August 19 marked the beginning of QuakeCon 2021, and appropriately the event was used to announce a 4K remaster of the original Quake. Zenimax is a holding company which owns numerous game development studios including The Elder Scrolls developer Bethesda Game Studios and id Software, the developer of Quake and Doom. Quake's fame and continued relevance is demonstrated by the name of QuakeCon, an annual event which celebrates Zenimax Game Studios and its various different gaming franchises.
